From the time of our origins water has been integral in the development of mankind, underlying the patterns of development and settlement. The demands made upon water resources has increased dramatically from historical times with a growing population, increased urbanisation and industrialisation. Our water resources are under threat because of the pressures of burgoening populations, which puts stress on our resources of potable water and water in general, since we waste more water basic home management than drinking. This would include flushing, bathing, cleaning, and a wide variety of other activiies that we dont even take into account. To add to this water resources are also subject to pollution, again a consequence of mankind.
