I find it difficult to give a single answer as your question is general one, It doesnot specify whether it is ancient medicine or modern medicine, In medicine (early), the following three are considered the fathers of early medicine, 1)Imhotep for writing the first medical treatise called the Edwyn Smith papyrus 2) Hippocrates for establishing the profession and for prescribing the practices for the physicians thru the Hippocrates oath and 3) Charaka who wrote the Charaka Samhita and founded the Ayurvedic system of medicine, But, when we come to modern medicine, the list is pretty big, with so many great people fit to be considered the father/mother of each field of modern medicine, For example,1) circulatory physiology( Ibn Al Nafis for discovering Pulmonary circulationand capillary and coronary circulations), 2)Medicne (Avicenna), 3)Physiology(Claude Bernard), 4)Plastic surgery (Sushrutha),5)Space medicine (Hubertus Strughold),6)Modern dentistry(Pierre Fauchard), There are so many ...more

Though Hippocrates can be termed as the father, the actual father is the need.Through needs only anything and every thing can occur.
