Q.
In a span of 43 years, Indians assassinated Mahatma, Indira & Rajiv three of the top leaders. Bangladeshis assassinated Mujib & his family and later on Zia ur Rahman and recently there was a massacre of army personnel. Few years back, a number of members of the royal family were shot down in Nepal. Pakistanis assassinated Benazir and her father (in fact it was a murder by Zia under the garb of legality); I vaguely remember that another PM or President was assassinated in early fifties. My question is why the people of the subcontinent are so aggressive, intolerant and violent?

We are violent against soft targets, but when violence is REALLY needed, we start preaching ahimsa....just look @ colonization. What was needed then for our young comrades (now grandpas & great grandpas I\'m sure) then to have picked up a sniper rifle & taken potshots at Colonial agents...we should\'ve targetted Colonial police forces, executed their Chiefs etc.
U\'re right...as a people we have no qualms putting a 38 caliber rifle on a peaceful man like Bapu....but when Lin Biao comes knocking at our door with an infantry brigade, we find the need to whine to the UN.
This is an absolute disgrace & just says that we\'ve had a leadership void for FAAAAAAAAAAR too long. I just wish we get a good leader like Comrade Stalin who will stamp our place in the world and give the UN (responsible for most violence worldwide & for partitioning the Subcontinent) a juicy middle finger or 2...

The then Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr.Liaquat Ali was assasinated. It is not subcontinent specific. Kennedy was assasinated. Recently Swiss Prime Minister was assasinated. It is common to all countrys. Premadasa of SriLanka was killed.
We have upteen number of incidents in History of political murders. In Egypt President Anwar Sadath was assasinated. So it a common human intolerance.
