Do straights (both genders), now a days, enjoy a greater societal admissibility, for exploring their adolescence and later, for exploring adulthood through relationship/s of all kinds and at all depths, as compared to their 'alternative' peers?' Please be honest and open to share your perspective, with respect to the changing Indian social values.
As far as the exploring part (which you have mentioned) is concerned even the "alternatives" do explore in their own way. Any young male, who has to travel in packed local trains, will tell you of the countless times when mysterious hands start exploring certain sections of his anatomy, without the entire crowd being aware of it
Also, for rich and powerful, there is no such factor which restrain them from exploring much beyond the "final frontier"
