Language is central to our humanity; it is the fundamental vehicle not only of the routine of daily life but also of our highest intellectual aspirations and achievements. Our German programs open a door for our students to a new language, literature and culture. The Language courses are intended to develop all the basic language skills: speaking, understanding, reading and writing. All courses above the introductory level are offered exclusively in German.

Learning one or more of the modern languages is particularly useful in todays employment market. Globalization has led to a mingling of languages like never before, and the training that goes into learning a new language opens up a vast horizon of new cul-tures, histories, and works of literature, whether its for continued personal enrichment or possible graduate study.
