Dedication is self evolved. Commitment may be due to external influence.
If a person is dedicated, he is doing that work as per his heart's wish. However if a man is committed, he is doing it for the sake of doing it, because he is committed to do it.

The simple difference is, your commitment is for a small thing to be accomplished by you and is for a very short time or a single task and soon over. dedication is something deeper which involves self-sacrifice, say for exams, for spouse, for parents, for relatives, friends and to do anything for them. It is a long time involvement towards anything, including worship.

Commitment is something you have to do because its your duty or its because you have promised about the work to someone.......Dedication is something that is involuntary...its out of interest and selflessness that you do it....
