He is neither a master of his dog nor master of his house. That is why he takes out his frustration and anger on the cloths with so much of violence by immersing them in water, striking them against hard rock, squeezing them, hanging them in the hot sun.....as if, this is not enough he runs a hot iron over them. Possibly venting out his frustration in this manner helps him to remain calm and humble in front of his customer, collect their soiled, stinking and dirty cloths and also politely listen to all the criticism that they heap on him for delayed delivery, buttons missing, cloth getting discolored etc.
