Depends on why you are stuck in traffic. Are you in a hurry to reach somebody to the hospital or see some loved one in trouble? If you are a heart patient than surely depending on your emotional status, stress could lead to a heart attack.

Not just aggravate, they lead to a complete collapse. There has been a case of a prominent minister getting stuck in traffic and not been able to reach within 10 minutes to a hospital that was just 5 mts. walk. He died. Poor man was not too old too and a very good person, unlike a usual politician.

A person having heart problem, any tension may aggravate attack. It is difficult to predict, however, whether it has any direct bearing or not.

This is my personal experience around 6 years back.I was stuck in an unexplainable traffic jam from Sion to Vikhroli on this unholy day.I had a Fiat UNO which had some clutch plate problem.I started from Kurla and instead of going via Agra road decided to go via Eastern Exress High way and to my dismay got stuck in this deadly jam.my assistant was with me .It was summer and the heat was nbearable. As the temperature guage started rising due to continious raising I had to keep the Ac off.Now we were inching and with glass windows down were literally asphyxiating in the horrendous exhaust fumes from vehicles spewing the deadly gases .Now I am not a sufferer from Hypertension, heart disease or diabetes but I could feel chest discomfort and dyspnoea or breathlessness .I also felt tizzy as i ahd not eated for a long while.I am sure that my haemoglobin was getting poisoned by Carbon Monoxide making my myocardium ischemic .But there was no respite as we were in thick of the iron claudron call ...more

Heart attacks need immediate medical attention. Loss of time could prove fatal.
