Q.

Crime against women:
The main reason is the attitude of Indian society towards women. We are still stuck in past values and traditions of Treta yug, SriRam and Manu (no offense meant). It is time we considered women as EQUALS in the matter of RIGHTs. Any com?

There are msany reasons the openness of tv,internet, films, magzines and western influence has changed our thinking and in absence of strict laws, apathy of police, delay justice, are some of main reasons every day one opens newspapers and finds full of criminal cases againstv women.minors and senior citizens.society too has become very insenstive as they become mute spectators when such crimes are committed beside political, muscular and money power also work.in treta yug and manuji regime such cases never happened inspite of the fact that women were highly educated.lack of moral teaching is one of the factors.it needs strong political will to wipe out this evil.

Its not just in our country, but till date in the entire world its a male dominated society and females are considered as inferior. Again, it is just a matter of outlook, morals and ethics that are mostly missing in our men because right from childhood males are regarded as superior to females, and ironically many women themselves by pampering their sons, inculcate and strengthen this belief. And this old idiotic mentality of khandaan ka chiraag is as filthy as it gets. One of my friends has two lovely and intelligent daughters, but his MA educated wife insists on khandan ka chirag, has got at least three abortions of girl child done by getting the illegal gender determination test done and twice this process has been done by a lady doctor. Female foeticide, female infanticide, mistreatment of women and even killing of women for dowry are blots on our country. Another example is that the woman is expected to be pativrata (loyal) but no one tells the man to be patnivrata (loyal to her w ...more

Yes, they r equals .In fact, many women have created a better place for themselves than many of us in a male dominated society. But biologically, they r marginalised. Therefore, they need protection n we have a right to demand appropriate laws for the same.

People's attitude towards women changed due to the increased proliferation of open sex through TV, MOVIE, NET, & CELLPHONE, .... and yes through swarming of the western culture,

Past values and traditions of Treta yug, Sri-Ram and Manu never imposed to treat the woman like a machine to quench the human lust.....
but itz the invasion of hollow western culture that triggers the increased molestation of woman in society...

Not going back so far....the kaliyug has all in it... We have women riding high to the top post on one side and being treated like slaves on the other side....so it is not the society exactly....it is how we empower them....how we make them independent and strong...to take DOGS to the task....The irony of this yuga is that....the women also never favour their gender....they stand against their own community ...for the ego satisfaction, jealousy, ills, short term/long term gains etc..... the laws, the acts, the amendments need to give ample opportunity for women to stand in parallel.... still we cry when a baby girl is born....and the mother/grand mother ...are for the hunger of baby boys....the gender inequality starts from the seed....and increases invariably with time....

India hv recognised the equality for women and a matter of fact itz one country who elected women as their leader even before self proclaimed champions of democracy, human rights and all. Even today, US and European countries except UK hv one female prime minister or president.
Apart from that, crime on women as well as men is there all over the world, and no need to degrade ourself.
Better u should hv given little bit better thought before posting this Q since our past values only hv made us matured enough to consider women in all spheres of our life,
