We must congratulate the ISRO scientist team for such an outstanding achievement. The successful launch of Mangalyaan, India's first probe to Mars is a national pride . The launch provisionally catapults India into the elite club comprising US , the erstwhile Soviet Union and the European Space Agency .Should Mangalyaan reach Mars successfully , India would be the first Asian nation to make it to the red planet.....earlier attempts by China and Japan having failed. It cannot be denied that the launch exemplifies a creative blend of India's scientific ingenuity and frugal engineering .it's to be noted that India's Mars mission took just 15 months to complete at a cost of$74 million, the cheapest Mars mission yet attempted. An upcoming mission by NASA, MAVEN took 5 years and $679 million to build is in a stark contrast with Mangalyaan in terms of time and money .

Although India is a country of contrast with poverty n starvation and skyscrapers technology, we must acknowledge the fact ...more
