Very much ........Self improvement , Self esteem Self confidence, self development , self realization ,whatever we call it , comes from Self-respect which again comes from an honest self-appraisal. There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self. First we need to love ourselves which is the first seed of self respect.

A man who doesn't trust himself can never really trust anyone else. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Never give it. I care not so much what I am to others as what I am to myself. I will be rich by myself, and not by borrowing.

Whatever games are played with us, we must play no games with ourselves. That you may retain your self-respect, by avoiding unpleasant talks but it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong.
