Memories of people are generally short lived. He has indeed done a lot for the state of Andhra Pradesh but in politics anything can happen. What happened today is forgotten tomorrow. Zero can become hero and hero can become zero.
Nobody wants to remain in a sinking ship. Since he is out of power, his own people deserted him. Opportunists - cannot trust anybody in politics. People shift loyalties if offered power!

Some of the few reasons are, Reddy Vs Kammas caste lobby in AP is very strong. Some vested interest created a sort of image saying Naidu performed but Urban ppl. benfited out of it. In subsequent tenures, performance of Rajsekar Reddy overshadowed the Naidu regime.
In between he too made some errors in his moves by drifting away from NDA and all.
