Every exercise has positive and negative impact. Similarly caste based reservation too. We may accept it or not but it is unavoidable as well as desirable. Despite sixty years of independence certain sections of society (castes) have remained illusive to the economic growth of this country. This is despite of the fact that reservation policy was applicable to these segments. Imagine what would have happened in the absence of reservation. In a lay mans language a soldier without arms standing on ground will be no match to a well equipped soldier positioned on a hill top. For maintaining equilibrium in distribution of the yields of growth and development of our economy among the masses, we shall have to make each individual of this great nation capable of competing . This can not happen in the absence of reservation . Once optimum level is achieved , reservation can be done away with in a phased manner.

Whether we like it or not, caste based reservation is and will be there; it can not be done away with. All leaders are very generous in providing reservation. No principle is followed; nobody things about the people who are adversely affected. Supreme court has given a fine judgement that reservation only on appointments and not on promotions. That has been over ruled by both the houses of parliament. Mr. Cho Ramaswamy from Tamilnadu is the only MP to register his opposition.

Leaders and also public should understand the reservation is to ensure only minimum representation of any caste and NOT PROPORTIONATE REPRESENTATION. How much will be the minimum percentage ? It can be anywhere between 25% to 50% If a particular caste constitutes 10% of the total population, the reservation for that caste can be between 2.5% to 5%

Take for example women reservation bill. Women constitute 50% of the population; the reservation can be between 12.5% to25%.

There should be no mentioning of caste anywhere in any form. Then only the caste related social issues will vanish

The policy is good. Implementation is bad. When a family has taken advantage, it should be restrictive to other members. No. of beneficiary children to be restricted. Who come out to a certain level of status and income- No relaxation. Reservations for one time only. In case of job swapping in the same scale No reservation. But for a higher post one more chance can be given. There can be several other suggestions but who listens. Now it may be implemented for private sectro too.

I support the policy, because they r under represented in each n every field, the benefits of development never reach them n they need to be educated because educational development is closely linked with economic development.Besides,we have exploited them for century in the name of lower caste.Do they not deserve a better life?If one feels that reservation compromises with quality....... well ,r all patients safe in the hands of an upper caste doctor?R all bridges n roads better prepared in the hands of unreserved engineers?Do the upper caste solders show better strength in the battle field than the lower caste solders? We have no answer for these questions.I strongly support reservation for the under privilleged on caste basis. However, the rich n powerful among the lower caste should be excluded from reservations.
