A long time ago when Istanbul was first conquered from the greeks it was considered a capitol of trade and travel it was the best place in hole country to possibly put a capitol city because it was so strategic. But the sultan of the Time (Mehmet II) did not want to move all of his things so he decided to keep the Capital in Ankara.
