Could Indian politics take a lesson from US where expert professionals are made Ministers in their domains of expertise instead of selecting unconcerned politicians?

I don;t see any benefits of that comrade....

Our health minister is a medical doctor by profession, is energetic & young...BUT... seeing the policies our chap has charted up, one is forced to think he hired a staggering drunk in Govt wine shop for 50 paisa & a pack of beedis to write up the health proposal for India.

In a nation where 80-90% of the population doesn't even have access to clean PHC level health care, our health minister thinks enforcing smoking bans is the epicenter of India's health woes. This is pure lunacy....and even worst than what our previous ministers did.

So, in a health situation where:
- majority can't afford / don't have access to even PHC.
- people can't have access to a cheap lab which tests whether medicine bought is real or fake (esp considering recent scares in this field).
- HUGE chunks of people people live in proximity of open water drains.... ...more

This is the bad luck that we dot not learn good points of America and talk of only Pakistan or nuclear deal with America which almost proves futile all the time. Americans have got immunity from terror attack and there has been no terror attack during last 8 years whereas we have faced hundreds of such attacks or attempts in India.
In America, every individual works as a spy or an informer. Wherever they find any dubious person they inform the same to police and police also reaches the spot immediately. If police find the person really doubtful they take him in custody for further investigation and if they find the doubt was baseless they pleasantly go back. In India no individual will dare take initiative to inform police because he knows very well that police will not investigate the affairs of person of doubtful integrity but torture the informer only.

Indian politics is 'pardanashin' 2 take lessons in politics from the outside, whether it be US or Israel. Remember, the politicians will start losing its independence after 62 years of 'Independent India'.

Yeah, already we had two extremes. One is Mr Abdul Kalam who is not opted second time as president by our political parties. The Other Gentle man is our Prime Minister ( You know his current & future status )
