Shashdhar Mukherji, who had discovered Sadhana and Asha Parekh, recommended Saira Banu to his brother Subodh Mukherji when the latter was planning his film, 'Junglee'. Saira is the daughter of yesteryear' beauty Naseem Banu.
Raj Kapoor went to Jaddan bai's hose who was a famous film personality at that time and the door was opened by Jaddan Bai's teenage daughter Nargis.The exact incident is re enacted in Raj Kapoor's film Bobby when Rishi Kapoor meets Dimple Kapadia for the first time.Raj Kapoor introduced Nargis to films.

She spent much of her childhood in London and was able to debut in 1961 in a Bollywood movie Junglee opposite Shammi Kapoor
