Q.
Lawyers in Tamil Nadu have gone on rampage.High court turned into battle field between police and lawyers.Law and order situation has deteriorated.Appeals by High court and Supreme court Judges yield no result. There is a definite disrespect to judiciary in T.N.It is surprising that Central Govt. is keeping silent. Let us say something about this. Is it a democracy?

To be honest with you, although state to state rivalry between Tamil Nadu & Kerala are very fierce...even the most "ultra nationalist" Keralite would say the (once) superb conduct & civility of the judicial community & the law enforcement in Tamil Nadu is (and now...was) truly a matter of great envy.
Even British lawyers in colonial times envied their counterparts in Chennai & Tamil Nadu. And for the police, the TN police was once dubbed "Scotland Yard #2" for its professionalism & tenacity in solving crimes- (I mean CRIMES and not stupid prohibitions).
But this is a complete u-turn backflip, and is a true shocker. I'd honestly expect things like this to go down between law enforcement & unions during a bandh in Kerala whenever privatization is discussed....but seeing the scale of violence in Tamil Nadu- that too amongst the judicial & law enforcement communities....was truly, truly, truly, shocking.
The police already destroyed its reputation quite a while back in Tamil N ...more
