Too many things mixed up here brov....actually firstly Pak donot want to face Taliban, coz they cannot keep their land secured if they have to attack Taliban as it is happening now and the example of swat valley where taliban is ruling now......

coming to next point, they cannot say NO to US because, they need money and US only would give them provided they help US.......now the issue is, they cannot really americanize pak, that is help US fully because, then there would be internal protests by inland talibans creating havoc......

this means, pak has fallen into the pit it has dig for India and they cannot get out of it at any cost.....

US is so desperate to help PAK because, if Pak turns out to be a failed state, then it would be Taliban rule there, which means, problem for both Afghan and India. At the same time, Osama "Uncle" can live royal life again :P (just kidding abt uncle thingy), which US donot want because, then the govt cannot show their face to the US people on how ...more

Americans strategy is to estabilish their base in Pakistan-Afganistan border with the help of Pakistan and after sometime they themselves will fight Taliban completely ignoring Pakistan Army.

All the answerers have given different answers. While by and large each one is true in its own say what I think is that Pakistan is too astute a fish and would not gulp down a line just because something eatable is attached to it. Pak is unable to understand that this same USA was asking Pakistan to help the Taliban to help the Afghanistan to clear out the Russians from there. And the moment that has been achieved they pull themselves back across the Atlantic . Under similar circumstances after the WWII the USA had launched the Marshall Plan to help the war-tron Europe to mend themselves. Had they adopted the same attitude the Taliban would have been a friendly force. Even Osama Bin Laken had been a friend of Americia in the Afghan struggle against the Soviet Russia. Why Pakistan even a dullard would have had his own doubts about the American theory of these Talibans suddenly bec9ming an anathema. The long and short of it the USA is trying to safeguard its Middle East interests. Th ...more
