Q.
"INDIANS GOING GLOBAL" .........An article "Six Indians in S Africa cabinet". After the US, its now S Africa that has many Indians in its cabinet. It is definitely a matter of pride that Indians are respected and made part of foreign cabinets. However, given the rather tainted reputation of the South African President, I dont think that these ppl will be seen in the same light as Sonal Shah & others in Obama's cabinet. All said and done, its wonderful to knw that Indians are going global. Your views pl??

These men of Indian origin had been living in South Africa since long and have nothing Indian about them. They are South Africans by all measures. They eat like them, live like them and think like them. Even if one of them does become a South African President it would not make any difference to India. It is a case like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Despite their Italian Origin they have lived in India for too long and have now become a part of Indian politics. Their being at the helms of affair does not mean anything to the country of their origin. The same rule applies in South Africa. Men of Indian origin are respected elsewhere too is indeed a matter of pride for us.
