The Sanskrit name for Jupiter is Guru (spiritual teacher) or Brihaspati the guru of Gods.
According to the location of this planet in the natal chart, we can estimate a persons character, strength of his principles, his level of morality and religion which he is committed to, and what his ideology is and how he adheres to it.

Brispati is Jupiter. Jupiter is a giant Planet. Many earths can collect in it. It has a huge Gravitational force. What Jupiter or Brihaspati does is that it attracts any dangerous celestial body that is traveling in a trajectory coming straight to collide with earth.
If Jupiter or Brahaspati were not there, earth would have been shattered into pieces.
One thing more. Jupiter or Brahaspati is placed in such a proper place that its distance from earth is such that it is not pulling earth towards it by its huge power of gravity.
So, my dear friend, lets worship the One Who has put Jupiter or Brahaspati in such a strategic position!! It pulls other bodies towards itself, saving earth from their collision, but does not pull earth towards it! And therefore we all are alive.
I hope you got it.
