Thakereys opposition is not based on Merits but on Religious Hatred. He thinks Muslims in India, all are Non Resident Pakistanis. He fears India may offer the same status to those Muslims who migrated to Pakistan, considering them NRI's.

Everybody is free to air own views. In democratic setup there are few advantages and disadvantages. Dr MMS is able leader and it is indeed a good step.

I too don't believe NRI's should be granted voting access. I do believe we should treat NRI's like our own countrymen, but giving them voting rights is just unacceptable.
How can someone, who is not a resident of a particular place, have full know how and be updated on what is happening on the ground in that particular place? If he doesn't have the on the ground knowledge considering his status as a non resident, then how can he make informed voting choices??? ?? ?
As it is , with the election commission's full monitoring, fake votes happen tenfold. Can u imagine the loopholes when u extend an already porus voting system to non resident folks?>

Mr. Thackeray must know that politics today is not charity.
It is business.
And India has become a fertile land for all such experiments.
