I keep some books handy...which I read over and over again...because of their lucidity, their content and their approach to life..
1. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen...which I believe is one of the best romantic books ever written.
2. Exodus by Leon Uris...a realsitic book on the tragic dislocation of the jews and their setllement in Israel amongst hostile neighbours...made me a great fan of theirs.
3. Far from the Madding crowd by Thomas Hardy...another book which leaves me moved to ponder about humanities, the fallacies of being a woman and the strength and weaknesses of a woman..
4. Arms & the Man by G B Shaw...a lovely light hearted bantering comedy which gives me pleasure still
5. The Jeeves series....by P G Wodehouse a satire about the stiff necked aristocracy of the British...which leaves me laughing verey time I read them
