Bonded labours, practice is still in use now-a-days.....
thatz bcz the unscropulous attitude of the rank profiteering contractors, brick-manufacturers, glass-article makers, cotton mills owners, and even some high-profile individuals, to utilise cheap labourers as bonded labourers just against the meals for a day and some garments to cover their body.....and they are so cunning that no HRC, no NGO,s can make any trace of their malpractice....and Govt. they sleep the slumber of KUMBHAKARAN....nothing is expected off them.....so itz the poverty of those wretched ppl who pass their lives abjectly in slavery......

You are right. Neither the Media nor HRC is bothered to improve the working conditions of poor. Today, In Andhra Pradesh and other States, poor migrant labor including women and children are brought and made to work in inhuman living conditions. Work will stretch beyond 12 hours and wages are low and any protest is violently subdued. This bonded labor system goes on in brick kilns mostly owned by influential people and if required, they can be easily caught and prosecuted. But who is bothered?
