Q.

Googly appears to be a vanishing art as very few bowlers attempt to bowl this these days. Is it right? Your views?

Hi , A googly is delivered out of the back of the hand, with wrist 180 degrees to the ground. It can be delivered after plenty of practice in back garden or in the nets. As you said only few Right hand leg spinners can bowl a Googly while playing . The googly is a major weapon in the arsenal of a leg spin bowler, and can be one of the bowler's most effective wicket-taking balls. It is used infrequently, because its effectiveness comes mostly from its surprise value

Few Bowlers like Mendiz , Musthaq are Using Googly these days , We need more Practiced spinners since we missed Shane Warne and Anil Kumble

Good leg spinners were always a rarity right from the inception of cricket. 90s and 2000s witnessed 2 great leggies. If there are no leggies in internation cricket, then who will bowl the googly ?

Incidently , VVS Laxman was lbw to a very good googly by Mendis.

Cricket isn't what it used to be. It was a great game of skill at on time. Now, its played by overpaid spoilt idiots. We have better things to do in the world then to watch these people.
