After the mahabharatha war a saint by name apasthambha wrote a new code sutra called after his name. in that he has NOT classified milch animal\'s milk as non veg. there are a few modern dieticians however who consider even dairy products as non veg. in that case u will be left with no veggies as he must have consumed atleast his mother\'s milk in his life time. but if one goes by the apasthambha sutra yes it is possible to live a pure veggie life.

If by non-veg is meant the non-veg items eaten and served in non-veg eating place and different from items in veg.eating place, yes it is possible to live. Many of the orthodox Brahmins of Kerala, performing Pooja in temples and their families, lead a life consuming strictly what is recommended as veg. diet by scriptures.

There are two types of non-veg foods. flesh of a killed animal and flesh of a naturally dead animal. Cat, snake etc eat live rats and frogs etc while vultures, foxes wolves etc eat the flesh of a dead and rotten animal. Man eats only freshly killed animal and process its flesh for food.
Veg people supplement their food with lots of dairy products...which, in a sense, are non-veg foods....for their survival...If dairy products and eggs are considered non-veg foods...then no human is a pure vegetarian..
