Yes, "When I was young my father said, son I have something to say...." Sung by Cliff Richord. Some more by the same singer are the "Young ones", the living doll. Another one I liked was sung by Earl Grant :

Number fifty-four,
The house with the bamboo door,
Bamboo roof and bamboo walls,
They've even got a bamboo floor!

I could probably write a list from here to eternity but here's a few to start with:
Without You by Nilsson
Maggie May by Rod Stewart
Staying Alive by the Bee Gees
He Ain't Heavy He's my Brother by The Hollies (My all time favourite group!)
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
Mamma Mia by Abba

From the movie,Aap ki Kasam, sung by kishore kumar...it haunts me a lot of times, and it lends a strange feel of pain ,loss, nostalgia and unshed tears....each word in the song is seeped in the struggle called life, the timelessness pain and turmoils have...all this and more of the pathos is well woven in this amazing rendition.

Zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hain jo makaam
Vo phir nahin aate, vo phir nahin aate

Phool khilte hain, log milte hain
Phool khilte hain, log milte hain magar
Patjhad mein jo phool murjha jaate hain
Vo baharon ke aane se khilte nahin
Kuchh log ik roz jo bichhad jaate hain ...more

Definitely; but instead of songs, I would love to concentrate selecting one each from the categories.
Hindi : `Maine.. tere liye hi saat rang ke sapane chune, sapne surile sapne.. Do you need to know the name of movie? ANAND, soft Mukesh, the original superstar Rajesh Khanna, fresh Oscar winner Gulzaar saab and all time great Salil Choudhuri, all made this song to be kept and cherished in the hearts of millions. This is classical example of filming the song scene too, how simple, how homely, and smiling faces of all listeners including our dear Big B. The amazing chemistry of making one of the loveliest songs has become part of lives of many. This song is very special for my mother, Prashant, as she was dedicated fan of Kaka. She used to sing this one along with `Naa jiya laage naa from the same movie, sung by none other than Lata jee. Do you wish to know one more feature of this song? Guess. Dont laugh, but I had sung this song while we classmates were enjoying camp fire dinner and u ...more
