Q.

So wearing a gown off shoulder ( like Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet etc) become the next big thing with our bimbos at Bollywood.
( Priyanka Chopra looked ghastly in it.)
Q. Do you think the saree will be kept alive or put in a museum, since our young ladies are known to copy actresses when it comes to fashion?

Nothing beats the drapery and tapestry of the saree. It shows whats most desired and hides the most envitable. As for the gowns well Bollywood likes to copy and ape. So let them relish in their old game. P.S I still havent figured out which law of physics makes those gowns stay PUTT

I personally think there is no garment more beautiful than a saree on a slim Indian lady and particularly for evening wear. Therefore I hope that young Indian starlets continue to wear it and realistically it will never go out of fashion. Putting starlets aside (because they are a breed apart!) it has to be said that a saree is not always practical in the work place, depending of course on the type of work you do. Comfort and practicality has to be a consideration. Now I go back to my first sentence - "on a slim Indian lady". Unlike western clothes the saree reveals a large chunk of the midriff area - if you are slim and in a warm climate great - if you are older and sporting a 'spare tyre' not so attractive ! Consideration should be given to this also.

This fashion will not last for a long time. Fashion is d only thing that changes everyday, in hollywud & bollywud... You can see, gorgeous Aishwarya n Madhuri, wearing sarees in national n international programs. In marriage also, bride prefer to wear Indian costume, say, saree or lehenga rather than gowns or western outfits... Saree has long life and it will always enhance beauty of an Indian women.

What is the percentage of women who keep a tab on fashion joyoti? Saree is here to stay although it would be nice if it is restricted to formal wear as otherwise it is quite cumbresome to manage it.

Sarees are supar +++ erotic :) Even if Indians don't appreciate them, they will always find space elsewhere. A saree is simply too much of a marvel to shelf itself in amuseum.

Saree will continue to remain popular since it is an Indian dress and at the same time there is nothing wrong in developing a liking for any western dress. we eat chinese and continental dishes but have we forgotten our indian delicacies?
