Cat nap ................I am the expert of napping. I can nap anywhere, anytime. It's one of my talents. Even my cat is jealous of my skills.....ha..ha ...kidding:)))

But yes , when I am having a heavy lunch , which is very rare , if I feel sleepy ..........then I take a deliberate cat nap ... I'm then in a semi-conscious state - not sound asleep but not fully awake. I can ease out of this wonderful place without a jarring effect. And when I emerge from my catnap, some 20 minutes later, I feel so good to do my job much more effectively

When I sleep under normal circumstances, my brain cycles go through several different stages of planning for tomorrow . I drift from one stage of sleep to another - from light sleep to deeper sleep

So, the key to napping is to not fall into the deeper stages of sleep. That's why a 15 to 30 minute nap is recommended. Napping more than that, and you'll find yourself waking up cranky or groggy.
