Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, technology and Sciences at Naini near Allahbad in UP definitely tops the list as far as I know. It is to agricultural colleges what Doon Dchool is to schools. My father had done is BSc in Agriculture from there in 1940 before moving on to the USA for higher studies.
Ask for their prospectus and admission procedure.

I would suggest the College of Agriculture, Pune which is one of the best agriculture colleges in India. It is one of the first five agriculture Colleges established in India. From its very inception, there has been a close co-ordination between research and teaching. The college is a constitutent college of the Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (Agricultural University), Rahuri. The college also offers B.Sc.(Hort) degree programme. The University headquarters are located in Rahuri, Dist.Ahmednagar 160 km to the north of Pune.

Dear Palliviji, The best would be to go to "Google search" site and note down all colleges and have a luk. Call for brochures and see which suits your pocket and area of course. Pl select a location which is safer for a lady as nowadays its very risky for girl students. Best select a college for GIRLS only where u will be safe but ofcourse it should also suit yours & your parents pockets. All d best. Regards Cyrus

Andhra Pradesh has a good Agricultural University (NG Ranga Agricultural University). I presume your question is about B.Sc (Agriculture). Instead of looking for the best college, it is better to do such a degree from a good college near by and then try for post graduation, the best in India or abroad. Best wishes.

Agriculture University Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu is a good institution with good infrastructure and agreeable climate. It would be better if you choose a University for further continuation of the course and research.
