I will suggest you to buy of kodak easy share or nikon . now it is the mega pixel factor written on the lens or the camera that rates the quality of the picture. all cameras above 2.5 mega pixels give good image .better buy one that is above 6 mega pixels or 8 mega pixels. normaly people buy 8 to 10 mega pixel cameras because the cost is around or less than 10 thousand. sony of the similar mega pixel compared to other company is always 2,3, thousands more costly than kodak or nikon or yashika . i cant say about vedio they start from rs 1500/-
