Admission to these prmier institutions in India is done on your performane in Common Admission Test (CAT) - eligibily of appearing is 50% marks only in graduation. Prepare well for that exam. If you like to get admission in next catogory institutions - u are to appear in MAT .. if you want to enroll in US management institutes - you have to appear in GMAT (eligibilty has criterion of marks and recommendation sometimes for good institues) after getting good percentile there and in TOEFL Good luck and best wishes.

Why do you let such thoughts creep inside your mind. I have seen IITians who have been a mediocre. If there is some cut off percentage (which I am not very sure of) then it is only for the purpose to filter out some non deserving candidates but still for them the doors for other institutes are open and they can excel in their career anyway. Concentrate in your studies and dont let these % cum in between your goal. Best Luck.

That is a myth at best. Most of the B Schools require 50% in graduation as eligibility criteria. In some cases, it is 60% but never 70-80%. To get an interview call from IIMs, you should score 98-99 percentile on CAT but the final admission will depend on how you fare in your GD and PI.
In case you dont get into IIMs, Id advice you should look into options like IMD Gurgaon or UPES Dehradun instead of waiting for another year.
