Before suggesting some measures it is important know what makes todays youth drug addicts? What is the social, economic and educational background of those young people who have become drug addicts?Under what circumstances they take to drugs? To what extent their parents and guardians are responsible for such deviant act by the young? Is it not wrong to think that the young are not aware of the adverse effects of drugs on their health?I think it is important to educate the parents about their responsibility in bringing up their child in such a way that the child grow to becomes the true human being first with lot of love and empathy. In the mad rat race to earn and become rich overnight the parents are neglecting their basic responsibility of growing their child as a responsible citizen. So,they need to be educated first and then think of educating the youth who are in real need of helping hand to know the adverse effects of drugs on their health.

Hang to death those who deal in drugs
hang to death those who use it
fear of punishment will prevent people from using it

I had gone to a renowned professional institute on their invitation...
and came to know from the counsellor that in a specific revealation...around 44 of the 100 batch mates of IIIrd semester were on drugs...all of them brilliant students...
the reason being...in most cases...the pressure to excel.
If we have to veer them away from drugs...this pressure has to be reduced...but how ?
Even in public schools...where there is comparitively minmal pressure...we have seniors taking drugs....and others trying to emulate them in the belief that it was 'macho' to be on drugs.
This very concept has to be changed first....and the moot question here would also be...how do they afford this expensive habit ? Obviously they have their source...and either it's their parents indulgment or they steal it.
This means that the initial check must be from parents...
secondly the drug peddlers who must be exemplarily punished to put in fear
and last of all...this pressure situation of living upto expe ...more
