The overall growth rate in the country in 2012-13 was 4.96 percent, the corresponding figure for the state was 7.06 percent during the same time.

The expenditure in the rural employment guarantee programme has gone up by a whopping 107 percent during the Trinamool government, while 10 lakh farmers have been equipped with Kisan Credit Cards to help them access credit facilities.

Hajj Pilgrimage: Mamata advised the DM and officers of the concerned department to make it sure that no one gets any kind of trouble. Last year, according to Fire minister Javed Ahmed Khan, people going for Hajj faced lot of difficulties to get passport.
Urdu as Second Language: One of the unprecedented announcement Mamata made after resuming CM`s office was to show green signal for Urdu to be the second language of the state. People were demanding it since many years but ex state government did not pay heed to it.
Added the Word Madrasah with Aliah University: Aliah University is now eligible to get the status of minority institution as it has got the name "Madarsah" attached to it. Though Left front made Aliah University but did not approve the word Madarsah to be attached with the university as a result it became difficult to get recognition as a minority character. Mamata is clean n is thinking for the poor.She has done her best to implement many central Govt. schemes in the state to improve the economic conditions of the poor.Besides,she is providing a clean n transparent Govt.
