Vikram Seth was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata); his family lived in a number of cities including the Bata Shoe Company town of Batanagar, near Calcutta

Vikram Seth is a great novelist who is born in Kolkta and educated in UK and now i think lives in UK.. His novels are very much readable and all his novels are received crictical appreciation by literary circles.

Born in 1952 in Calcutta, India, Vikram Seth was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Stanford University and Nanjing University. He has travelled widely and lived in Britain, California, India and China.
