There was tis guy called Ruchira Pereira , another Lankan pacer (left armer, i think) in the 90s. Malinga's action is completely legal. Thows who say he throws the ball do not even know what throwing/chucking is.

I've seen Vinay Kumar try out a few deliveries with an action similar to Malinga.

Yes, i used to be amazed earlier when i first saw him bowling because its really a strange action where his hand comes in front of the the Umpire's face most of the times. I havent noticed any other such bowler which comes anywhere close to Malinga. He is one unique bowler & the lost impressive is his accuracy to bowl yorkers!!

There was a good fast bowler from Karnataka viz., David Johnson, who toured Indian Cricket Team to South Africa as a fifth bowler. During this series, Sunil Gavaskar commented that his bowling action is suspicious, because, his hands were not straight vertical. Now, Malinga is literally throwing the ball as if he is fielding the ball and throwing back to the fielders on the wicket. But nobody questions. His bowling action is horizontal and parallel to the earth and still same Gavaskar is silent. In my views, Malinga is not a bowler. He is a thrower of the ball.

He is no bowling the ball as appears from his action. He is throwing the ball. The ICC should immediately take note of it. I have seen similar action from another bowler but do not remember the name.
