Are opinion polls on News channels doctored and manipulated in order to create controversies and gain more viewership in the process?

Possible. Yesterday India Today-Nelson opinion poll on Aaj Tak was widely criticized by Congress because it was against UPA. But somehow I felt that is the situation on today's date in our country. If elections are done today, UPA is bound to lose badly.

News channels are in the business of conducting polls. It is their job, whether the outcome of the polls is liked by any one or not. It is a question of credibility of the News Channel. If they are proved wrong, their credibility takes a beating. So manipulation may not be in their best interests.
