Q.
Apparently, no tennis player of post war era was Knighted(correct me if I am wrong) though the game produced true greats like Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and now Roger Fedrer? If so is it an irony and what reason you can attribute to this?

The Monach can only bestow a full Knighthood on a British Citizen and really Britain hasn't produced any good tennis players. Yes, Andy Murray is getting better but he still has a long way to go and certainly hasn't done anything yet to deserve such an honour - one gold medal is not enough.

I think its due to no citizen of the commonwealth nations has rosen to such levels to be knighted but Andy Murray after the Olympic gold medal seems to be the likely candidate now!!
