IN MANY Large cities in westren countries, parking vehicle on public road invites parking charges/while in mumbai city no parking charges are levied on parking vehicle on public roads/a vehicle occupies 40 sft. of road/public roads are not built for parking of vehicles/ if govt/bmc levy parking charge on vehicle on public roads many people will change over to public transport system or offices will hire buses for their staff/It appears govt.policy is to tax poor and give relief to rich persons/pl.comment
In the UK these parking charges are levied by the Local Authorities and to restrict the build up of traffic in city centres. Heavy goods vehicles will not be allowed, especially in narrow streets. The Local Authorities then use the money to maintain the standard and repair of the road and general environment - would that happen in India.
