Ever since Jaya established herself as the queen of AIADMK, Sashikala has been her friend, philosopher and guide. While Jaya is the captain of the team AIADMK, Sashi had been its coach. Sashikala like Bhisma was never interested in heading AIADMK but was always 100% involved in managing the party.All these years they had been planning to groom a male member from Sashikala's family to be the successor for Jaya. But the members whom they picked up turned out to be useless. They invariably turned out to be drug addicts and womanizers and were only interested in leading a luxurious life and not interested in taking up responsibility. So it is quite possible with no other players available the coach might have decided to step into the play area and and the Captain who was running out of partner would have decided to include the coach in the playing team. With the recent success in polls it is the right time to do the coronation of Sashi as the crown princess.
