nargis is a cyclone that made a landfall in burma (myanmar). it started in the bay of bengal in april 2008 and reached speeds of 215 km/h (135 mph). fatalities are above 100,000. katrina was a hurricane in august 2005 that affected florida, cuba, bahamas etc. reaching speeds of 175 mph (280 km/h) . it formed part of the 2005 hurricane season. patricia was a tropical storm in 2003 , formed to the south of acapulco and reached hurricane strength on oct 21, reaching speeds of 80 mph (130 km/h) but it had no effect on land. the earlier ones called pauline were replaced by the name patricia - the ones in the 70s.Answered by nargis bhambi, 10 May '08 01:45 am
