Anna is like a coach. He is good at creating politicians but not good at playing the game himself.

Anna Hazare has been a social activist for more than 30 yrs and through his satyagraha's has made many corrupt ministers in Maharashtra. He was largely responsible for the passing of the RTI Act 2003 in the Maharashtra assembly and despite Sonia Gandhi and many congress leaders taking credit for th same it was this RTI Act 2003 which was converted to RTI 2005 at the central level mainly due to the efforts of Kejriwal and despite opposition by Congress. Thus Anna Hazare through his peaceful satyagraha's for more than 30 yrs tried to change things and been largely successful also. May be he feels politics is a dirty game and end up spoiling his reputation, may be he feels that he is old and doesn't have the energy to be involved in active politics. I think the image and reputation he has earned in more than 30 yrs of social service; he doesn't want to spoil it by entering active politics.

Gandhijee never fought an election. Anna also should keep his fight against corrupion alive but should stay away from direct politics.
