Norman Pritchard, an Anglo-Indian from Calcutta had the honour of representing the country in the 1900 Olympics. Pritchard participated and won silver medals in the 200 metres sprint and 200 metres hurdles events. In fact, Pritchard was the first ever Asian to win an Olympic medal.
