Israel is one country that does not tolerate any infringement on its right to survival. While the neighbouring Arab States will do anything to bring Israel to extinction.
The Jehadis from Gaza havebeen sending rockets and bombs and Israel has retaliated strongly, effectively and completely.

Judea (now Israel) and Palestine have been rivals for centuries. Israel is surrounded by enemies and it is but natural that they have given indication that if they are threatened, they will defend at any cost.. Legal authority of Palestine is President Abbas and his government whom Israel recognises. Gaza is not a seperate nation but Palestine is. If Hamas (elected only in Gazaand not in entire Palestine) does not respect the government of Palestine and Palestine government has no control in Gaza, it is technically a lawless place. Once rockets are fired on Israel, Israel has not only right but duty to protect itself . In military terms, the best way of defence is offence. Although I feel sorry for the innocent people of Gaza for the excessive force used by Israel, I think Israel has right to defend itself and the entire blame goes on Hamas. However, I pray for peace for the sake of innocent people of Gaza and hope the world nations will try to bring immediate ceasefire.

If Palestine has right to attack, Israel cannot keep quite. So it retaliates.
Initial provocation is from Palestine. Anyhow, both should sincerly and in a determined manner follow "Live and let live"policy.
