These are nothing but condolence reports to make emotional Indians feel better so that this issue is dead & buried soon. Media is reporting what its said to do as its dictated by the government. So, lets not be lured by such ploys. We should demand strictest possible action against the culprits so the example is set that not to mess with Indians & we are not to be taken for granted be it in India or abroad!!

What can you do and what precautionary measures can you take in a country that doesn't have any gun control laws in place and where you are allowed to possess and carry around even automatic rifles? In the past decade or so, we have heard of so many incidents, the worst of them I think was the Virgina Tech shooting where more than 38 people died. There is nothing you can do because there is no way you can stop people from carrying weapons around in a country flush with it, and that too of real potency and not the handmade ones that come from the backyards of our country.

Which demented guy will target whom and at what time, you will never know. It is an extremely sad thing that this particular incident happened in a Gurdwara but it is nothing more than a choice of location depending upon what hate psychosis that person possesses or what kind of prejudices a person carries in his mind and that takes monumental demonised form for him to act with a vengeance.

We are making unnecess ...more

It is a sad incident indeed. But taking precautionary measures to stop spill of the innocents' blood is some thing practically impossible. Can India prevent the mindless killing of innocents, by merceneries or terrorist outfits, by indiscriminate firing or exploing of crude bombs carefully concealed in public places.? It is an emphatic No, as is demonstrated by mindless blasts in public places, taking a heavy toll of innocent commuters, shoppers , worshippers and the like. Then what to be said of the US, where owning private fire arms is as simple as purchasing a postage stamp across the counter.
All countries have limitations in preventing killing of unsuspecting public in unsuspecting places. The US is no exception.

I wish the question was easier to answer, but what you are talking about is disturbing the fabric of America, there have been attempts of banning weapons, but it goes against the principals of freedom, then you get crazy folks going around shooting folks, this was not the only incidence, there was a nut case who opened fire in a movie theater few days back. There has been debate regarding this issues for last 40 odd years with no solution. The guy who did this act ended up shooting himself and 2 Cops. so its difficult to punish any one
