(1)Well, to an outsider it may look so that RIL is in a hurry to cover the lost ground since it is a late comer to the game.
(2)But it seems that it has already done its home work properly since it has the entire wherewithal.
(3)RIL is a cash rich company and funding mega projects is not a problem for it. RIL last week mopped up $1 billion, a seven-year loan at an attractive rate. It can do so anytime or whenever it wants on the strength of its balance sheet.
(4)Interestingly its rival Reliance ADA group owned by Anil Ambani is not eligible to bid for the Chattisgarh UMPP. Because ADAG has already won three projects which makes it ineligible to bid for the fourth one. That should enhance the prospect of RIL to bag the power project.
