Sanatan Dharma or Vedic Culture is based on teaching of God and Since God has no beginning, Sanatan Dharma has no beginning..

Some People believe that Vedic Culture started 3500 BC when Bhagavad Gita and other vedas where compiled by Vyasadeva.

But Vyasadeva just out of mercy wrote down the instructions in Book form, seeing this degraded age of Kaliyug. Vedic Culture was practiced from much before..

So let me give you a feel of what Vedas say about its origin...

Around 5000 years ago, ie around 3500 BC, this Dark age or Kaliyuga Started. This age is said to last for total of 432,000 years.

Islam is the oldest religion
Hinduism is not the oldest of all the religions. It is Islam which is the first and the oldest of all religions. People have a misconception that Islam is 1400 years old and that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the founder of this religion. Islam existed since time immemorial, ever since man first set foot on this earth. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was not the founder of Islam. He was the last and final Messenger of Almighty God.

Hindu dharma its a very long story but you can understand it very easily if you study about the boddhism. In boddhism its written that Gautam buddh was born 3rd centuary before christ that means 3000 year before the birth of Christ and as we all know that Gautam buddha belongs to a hindu family so the hindu dharma is the oldest religion on this earth as far I know.
