Q.
Again on English as a foreign langauge debate:
Even many schools in their curriculum list only
Chinese
French,
German
Italian
Japanese,
Portughese
Russian and
Spanish,
as foreign languages and certaily not English !
So why this feeling that English is a foreign language and when that too it has given Mother India a big edge in business Development and as emerging economic super power in the global village !!

English is an accepted International language today.
In India, most of the newspapers are in English.
The medium of instruction in most schools, is in English.
Rediff qna is in English.
Most sign boards are in English.
Our Constitution was printed in English.

I Think English is here to stay since 1853 and it should be considered as a local language for all practical purposes !! If some one tries to argue it will be only for argument sake is my view !!
