There are quite a few of them indeed who deserve it if it is decided to conferred upon sportsmen but none better than Sachin Tendulkar which is not only for his contribution as a Cricketer but also for being so humble. His devotion towards the game & the country is an ideal to follow by all which needs to be comended. Apart from him, Vishwanathan Anand, Mary Kom too deserve it!!

I never see any deserving person to be awarded with Bharat Ratna the largest Civilian Award from the Indian sports..... bcz Indian sports is not that much developed as to confer a Bharat Ratna which should have been given to the ppl excelling in Social works, Peace, Integrity, Science, Economics, Administration, Development, literature etc.....

Bharat Ratan should be reserved for serious achievements for the country ... like in the fields of Science, Economics, Administration, Development, Works for betterment of people in general etc.
I don't think sports deserves any place in the list of Nation's highest civilian award. Anyway its my personal view.
