It is an accepted fact that a strong opposition is absolutely essential to keep any democratic government on the right track. Is that what we lack in India at this juncture? Your views?

We have strong opposition.. but the ruling government is not following the democratic norms and being an autocrat.. It has now become important to support the opposition to check the corruption / scams floating in the ruling government.

India faces threat of terrorist whenever there is a voice against the corruption and congress government since its control is from cross boarder.

We have witness numerous challenges when there was non-cogress government in past. We people need to understand the politics of Power and the PRICE we pay for that, i..e we we support them we have structural violence.. and if we stand against them.. we face physical violence

Yes , True ,Democracy is a system of forming government that allows public expression of opinion and accommodation of divergent views. Since democracy is based on number game with eventual majority rule, the minority, as opposition, should act to check and highlight the excesses of the majority. In this sense opposition parties are the pillars of any democracy and are the voice of the people, especially the marginalized. Opposition must see to it that a sense of direction which has been lost sight of by the people at large should be restored to them by the work and creative role that the opposition play In India unlike the USA and UK and other democratic countries suffer to be formidable ,due to multiplicity political party system ,which very unique in our country .Most of the times under normal conditions there is diagonally opposite policies and ideologies are being adopted .The communists who were allies with the Congress during last period in it's power were close allies and dumped ...more
