A serious Q:
In Ramayan Rama is depicted has a faithful Husband with just one wife !!
In Maha Bharath Arjun (and Bheema also) is supposed to have had 4 wives and why so ! Is that means extradinarily talented (Archery) sports persons always attracted more women even during those days ??
It has more to do social laws and customs prevailing at that time. Polygamy was in vogue during Ramayana times. For instance, Ram's father Dasaratha had 3 wives. But in case of Ram the reason for him remaining monogamous could be he spent most of his youth in exile living in forest. So it looks like circumstances could have prevented him from taking on more than one wife. Moreover, most of kings generally married as a solution to strengthen the ties with some of the neighboring kingdom. Becoming sambhandis ensured they can have lasting peace. In case of Rama possibly such a need did not arise. Ram was probably as good an archer as Arjun. So him not not having another wife may not mean he lacked skills in archery. Moreover more than a sport, Archery in those days was a weapon of war. A good archer was regarded as a good warrior rather than a sports celebrate.
